Kathryn Bartlett is a contemporary artist based in Auckland, New Zealand. Her sculptural practice centres around works created in moulded glass forms and bronze, often on the verge of abstraction, grounded in her experiences and surroundings.
Apparitions, emotions, and social observations inform her practice and the inherent translucence of glass provides a mysterious, often sensuous interplay with a constantly shifting physical environment. Kathryn’s interest in abstraction creates a sense of freedom in movement and form, which is mirrored in her sculpting practice.
