Michelle Bellamy grew up in Nelson and recently moved to the North Island. She has been painting full-time for the past four years and represented by Parnell Gallery since 2006. After two very successful solo exhibitions in 2007 and 2008, she has now established herself as a highly regarded and sought after artist throughout New Zealand.
Bellamy paints with acrylics on board and canvas. She has a realistic contemporary style, but always portrays old subject matter. The majority of the subjects she chooses are under dispute whether to terminate them or not. Therefore, throughout her work she is always looking to record a small part of New Zealand history.
Bellamy also represents New Zealand in Mountain Biking, and due to commitments this year is participating in a Group Exhibition - with Brian Strong, Belinda Wilson and Russell Jackson - from 20 October to 3 November.
